MATLAB and Simulink
Choose MATLAB Simulink for control design, algorithms, power electronics, motor drives, signal processing and custom block-level dynamic models.
DIgSILENT PowerFactory
Choose PowerFactory for network-centric studies such as load flow, short circuit, protection, RMS dynamics, grid-code analysis and large power-system automation.
COMSOL Multiphysics
Choose COMSOL when geometry, fields and coupled physics are central: thermal stress, fluid flow, electromagnetics, MEMS, wave optics and material effects.
Hybrid workflows
Many advanced studies use more than one tool. A controller can be developed in MATLAB, a network validated in PowerFactory and a component’s thermal or electromagnetic behaviour analysed in COMSOL.
